Add 3G HSDPA connection to Asus Eee PC, internally

4 January, 2008

This amazes me. jkkmobile has hacked a Asus Eee PC by embedding a HSPDA modem into the RAM expansion area. The hack requires some soldering and cutting but definitely worth the work. It makes the Eee PC become a ultimate portable surfing machine, equipped with wifi and 3G connections:

How to add internal 3G HSDPA to Asus Eee PC

I bought a Asus Eee PC as well, by the way:

In fact TnkGrl has done this in Nov in the States. I have also make it work in Dec ( many thx to TnkGrl ) in Hong Kong.

But the biggest new I can bring you is, what do you think if a whole DIY pack ( just without the Data SIM ) cost you only HKD 1,000 ?

With a DIY pack , you will have a special connector and SIM mount alongside with the 3G HSDPA 7.2 modem module. No soldering skill is needed. You can just plug the module like adding RAM!

Yes, if I can have enough order, the whole DIY can be shipped within Q2 2008.

    Any comment ?
